We are very proud that Doolittle's Campsite was included in the 2014 list of the 10 best small campsites in the country and also in 2015 a camping magazine named us as one of their 7 best small sites.
Doolittle's Caravan and Camping campsite is for adult members only and is part of a 10 acre sheep smallholding complete with orchards, goats, hens and ducks, and we are able to accommodate small dogs by arrangement
It has excellent facilities for a slightly quirky small site, only 12 pitches all with electric hook-ups and a shepherd's hut camping pod. It is owned and run by the Turney family (Wendy, John and daughter Liz) and is situated in the beautiful and historic village of North Curry which lies on the edge of a spectacular area of moors and has international status as one of the most important wetlands of its type in the world. An RSPB reserve is alongside the campsite and there are over 50 miles of footpaths within the parish. The area around the village is famous for willow growing, basket making, orchards and cider.
Each week some of our animal supplies are delivered by horse and cart. Peter has horses available for carriage rides around the village and other horses for riding.
Doolittles is an ideal centre for visiting Cheddar, Glastonbury, the Quantocks, the Mendips, Porlock Weir, Exmoor, Minehead, the small fishing towns of Beer or Lyme Regis or for breaking a long journey to Cornwall as we are only 10 minutes from Junction 25 of the M5
Dizzy Doolittle's craft shop is incorporated in our new reception building in which small gifts and cards (made on the premises) can be bought.
North Curry is a large, pretty, conservation village that boasts an excellent pub that caters for all tastes and budgets. There are also a well-stocked shop, post office, hairdressers, brewery and community coffee shop in the village square. It is an easy level walk from Doolittle's to the centre of the village. This thriving community also benefits from a health centre and village hall. The playing field and cricket pavilion are almost alongside the campsite - often booked by campers for their family parties.
Our apologies, although Doolittle's Campsite is suitable for almost all motorhomes/caravans, we are unable to accept huge ones which could damage our winter sheep pasture and WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT SMALL BREEDS OF DOGS for the protection of our lambs, goats, chicken and ducks.
