We still have vacancies for the August Bank Holiday Weekend
We are open until the last weekend in October 2025. Our grass is green, perfect for camping, the sun is shining so come and see the beautiful Somerset countryside soon.
Thank you so much to those who nominated us as one of the best CS sites (our beautiful rosette is proudly displayed). We still ask our guests for payment in cash but we are maintaining the same prices as for the past 3 years.
We are a small site with 12 large pitches all with electric hook up, plus a shepherd's hut and a pod so we are ideal for groups who can book the whole site for their parties at a very reasonable cost. The pavilion is 2 fields away (with cricket pitch) for buffets etc. and we are within walking distance of our lovely pub "The Bird in Hand". We regularly have reunion, motorcycle and canoe groups as well as private family parties who like having the site all to themselves and we can obtain logs for evening bonfires.
If you enjoy cycling, canoeing or walking we are the perfect site for you and you can return and relax on our quiet country site. Come and enjoy the wildlife with an excellent pub, village shop, post office and coffee shop all within easy level walking distance. Fish & chips van on Monday and Pizza van on Thursdays.
Doolittle's Caravan and Camping campsite is for adult members only. It is part of a 10 acre sheep and poultry smallholding and for their protection we are only prepared to accept very small breeds of dog (eg. Yorkshire Terriers) by previous agreement. We have excellent facilities for a slightly quirky small site. Electric charging points are available at our village hall car park a few fields away.
A shepherd's hut style camping pod (bed in a shed with a few extras) is available with comfortable small double bed, fridge and kettle. The shepherd's hut has no cooking facilities other than a BBQ and no bedding or towels are provided, which is why it is so reasonably priced. It can only be booked through Airbnb.
We are situated in the beautiful and historic village of North Curry which lies on the edge of a spectacular area of moors and has international status as one of the most important wetlands of its type in the world. An RSPB reserve is close by the campsite and there are over 50 miles of footpaths within the parish.
We are ask our guests to be extra vigilant, to look after each other and to leave the toilet and shower as clean as possible. We have installed an electric hand dryer. We have also reduced the number of pitches, all of which have electric hook-ups.
